BJJ Programs Designed to Get you to Black Belt

At Gracie Barra Kirkland, our Professors have built a team-oriented environment by establishing a solid foundation based upon strong leadership and effective instruction. With these pillars in place, students are given the opportunity to get the most out of their training. For students with consistency and dedication to the Art, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu becomes a lifestyle, which allows them to readily enjoy all the benefits of Jiu-Jitsu.

GB Kirkland offers 16 adult classes a week, including 3 days of Gi and 3 days of NoGi, and plenty of class options for kids and teens.

GB2

Take your training beyond the fundamentals and begin to hone the principles you need to succeed.

GB3

This program is designed to help students achieve Black Belt excellence.

Kids’ Classes

In our Tiny champs program (ages 3 to 6), kids learn the fundamentals of jiu jitsu and are also introduced to sparring. More time is spent on proper technique and teaching your kids how to focus, problem solve, stay on track and train with purpose. Classes are one hour long and take place every Tuesday and Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 11 a.m. Children must be out of diapers.

Our little champs 2 program (ages 7 to 10) is for our older kids and consists of a warmup, BJJ techniques and plenty of sparring. Kids in this program are working on more advanced techniques and submissions. Classes happen every Tuesday and Thursday at 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 10 a.m.

Our juniors (ages 11-15) follow a similar structure as the little champs 2, though they do spar a bit more. They train every Monday and Wednesday at 4:30 p.m and classes are one hour long. Juniors can also attend Saturday’s 10 a.m. classes.

Our homeschool program is geared towards children who are homeschooled and takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. Children in this program can also attend Saturday’s 10 am or 11 am session based on their age.

Adults’ Classes

If you are a beginner, we encourage you to attend 2-3 of our fundamentals classes for at least the first 6 weeks. They take place Mondays (11 am/5:30 p.m.), Wednesdays (5:30 p.m.) and Saturdays (noon).

Some of our other classes are also beginner friendly, including our 11 am sessions on Tue/Thu and 6:30 am sessions on Mon/Wed. Members cannot attend the positional sparring class or the competition class unless they are a 2-stripe white belt.

NoGi

Our NoGi program is led by American Nationals Champion Joshua Bacallao, a third-degree black belt, and is the perfect complement to the gi programs offered by the academy.

The curriculum focuses more specifically on the situations and positions found in NoGi jiu jitsu, helping you become a more complete grappler.

We offer two leg lock classes per week, including a Friday class led by coach Nicolas Germanos, a brown belt and active competitor.

The leg lock class is for white belt 2 stripes and up.

Women’s Only

We have one women’s-only session per week and will add another in early march. Our current offering is Gi fundamentals on Fridays at 5 p.m. and is led by black belt Solange Reyner, a NoGi world silver medalist and Gi bronze medalist. In March, coach Alma Aslani will lead a NoGi session on Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m. Young girls are also permitted to attend these sessions. If your significant other or child attends our school you can come to this class at no cost.
